Real time monitoring of the power factor (cos φ) of three-phase/single-phase AC distribution systems, while expanding the measurement of phase, frequency and other parameters, can be used for energy efficiency management, reactive power compensation control, and distribution automation monitoring of power systems, directly replacing traditional pointer type power factor meters.
